The Fertilizer Inspection Advisory Board’s (FIAB) Technical Advisory Subcommittee (TASC) is welcoming two new members and one reappointment for 2026. The TASC serves as an expert scientific panel on matters concerning efficient use of fertilizing materials and irrigation water for the Fertilizer Research and Education Program (FREP). TASC members assist in setting project priorities for FREP’s grant program, review and recommend research and outreach proposals to the FIAB for funding and make recommendations regarding FREP activities.

The goal of this FREP grant funded project was to create an online training that would support present and future generations of CCAs interested in providing nitrogen (N) management planning services, including certifying Irrigation and N Management Plans (INMPs) for their clients. The asynchronous course has eight N and irrigation-focused modules designed to provide up-to-date, science-based information that can prepare individuals to pass the CA-NSp specialty exam and receive 10 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to maintain their CCA license.
