Save the date! On October 29-30, 2025, the annual Nutrient Management Conference will be hosted by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) Fertilizer Research and Education Program (FREP), in collaboration with Western Plant Health (WPH). This year’s FREP/WPH conference will be at the Doubletree by Hilton Convention Center in Fresno.

This FREP-funded project develops knowledge and information on improving and promoting adoption of management practices that optimize nitrogen and irrigation use efficiency in California’s low desert lettuce production systems. This blog post presents a portion of the data collected during the first two years of this three-year project.  

FREP is announcing two vacancies on the Fertilizer Inspection Advisory Board’s Technical Advisory Subcommittee (TASC). The TASC serves as an expert scientific panel on matters concerning efficient use of fertilizing materials and irrigation water. Subcommittee members assist in setting research priorities, review and recommend research and outreach proposals for funding and advise on FREP activities. Applications are due by July 31, 2025.
