May the 4th Be With You Event Promises Fun for the Whole Family
2024 marks the 9th year the event will be held in Danville
The force is strong in Danville: This year marks the 9th anniversary of the Town’s annual May the 4th Be With You festivities. Families and fans of all ages can join the rebellion on Saturday, May 4, as the Town of Danville hosts a celebration of all things Star Wars.
This year's event will feature a pancake breakfast, a free scavenger hunt, Jedi training, a costume contest, and a special sundown Moonlight Movie showing of Return of the Jedi on the Town Green. Pre-registration is required for event participation. • MORE INFO

 Applications for Juried Show Close May 3
The Town invites artists 18 and older to submit works for the 14th Annual Juried Exhibition, Botanica. The exhibition will showcase the diverse beauty of flowers through multiple artistic mediums. On Saturday, May 18, the Danville Community Center becomes a tapestry of cultures at Danville Goes Global, organized by the Danville Youth Council. Children and teens ages 4-18 and their families are invited to experience cultural activities including crafts, passports and organized sports games. Art in the Park at Oak Hill
The Town of Danville is hosting a day of hands-on art projects for the whole family. Art in the Park will take place on Sunday, May 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the picnic tables at Oak Hill Community Park. behind the Community Center at 3005 Stone Valley Rd. Call for Young Artists: Community Pianos and Student Film Festival
Students are invited to submit original designs for the Danville Community Pianos and original short films for the inaugural Student Film Festival. Submissions are due May 24 for the Community Pianos and July 10 for the Student Film Festival. California, Places & People Opens at the Village Theatre Art Gallery
On April 20 the Town of Danville held an opening reception for the California, Places & People exhibition at the Village Theatre Art Gallery. The event honored the contributions of artists affiliated with the California Watercolor Association (CWA). The Big Jangle at the Village Theatre
The Big Jangle Band, a tribute to Tom Petty, will be presented at the Village Theatre on May 31 at 8 p.m. The Big Jangle will also perform covers of songs that were performed by Tom Petty such as music from The Traveling Wilburys, The Byrds, and Stevie Nicks.
