Dear Neighbors,
This month, the City Council made progress on two important issues: public safety and open space.
We approved a long-term sheriff services agreement that ensures continued law enforcement services for Cupertino while allowing the City to keep working with the County on concerns about its overhead cost methodology.
We also approved the acquisition of the Finch Property, an important step toward creating more public open space in Cupertino. Opportunities like this don’t come along often, and preserving land for future park use will give our community more room to gather, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time together.
Additionally, Cupertino welcomed a new business last Friday. Hashi Market opened at 20558 Stevens Creek Boulevard in the former Sprouts location. The supermarket offers Japanese groceries, specialty products, and prepared foods, giving residents another option for shopping locally. Please join me in welcoming Hashi Market to Cupertino and supporting our local business community!
In this edition, you’ll find updates on the City Work Program and highlights from the Move Moore Challenge celebration, as well.
Have a few minutes to share your feedback? The City is looking for input from people who have recently gone through the building permit process. The survey takes just three to five minutes and closes Tuesday, October 20. Take it at cupertino.gov/permitsurvey.
Thank you for staying involved and helping make Cupertino a great place to call home.

Warm Regards,
 Tina Kapoor
