Community Meeting
E-Bikes & Youth Safety
Come learn about e-bikes, find out what’s legal and what’s not, and receive tips about how to stay safe in this presentation from Bob Mittelstaedt of E-Bike Access and Gwen Froh of Marin County Safe Routes to School. Representatives from Santa Clara County Public Health and the Sheriff’s Office will join them for the question and answer session. This free community meeting is open to parents, school and district staff, enforcement partners, and community members to share accurate information and support safer e-bike practices in Cupertino.

E-Bike Classes
Middle School Bike Skills 102
E-Bikes are typically faster, heavier, and less maneuverable than regular bikes. Come learn how to ride yours safely this summer in one of our new MSBS E-Bike classes. You’ll need your own legal e-bike and helmet. Bring a parent along too. MSBS 101 or the online Smart Cycling class is a pre-requisite.
MSBS 101 is our regular summer bike skills and safety training course designed for incoming middle and high school students who want to bike on their own or with friends to school (and really anywhere). Learn the rules of the road along with defensive biking tips, practice your riding on the blacktop, and then put it all together with a ride on local streets.
We are also offering a new basic bike maintenance and repair class (MSBS 103) for those who want to learn how to change a flat tire or put a chain back on themselves instead of waiting around on a street corner for a parent to come fetch them.
Check out all these classes and sign up by visiting cupertino.gov/saferoutes/msbs

Play Walk n' Roll Bingo
Walk n' Roll Bingo is back! All K-8 students who live or go to school in Cupertino are invited to complete various walking, scootering, and biking challenges during the month of May. Just like regular bingo, finishing all the activities in a row (bingo) or on the board (blackout) wins prizes.
The game board, rules, and information about the prizes can be found at cupertino.gov/saferoutes/bingo.
It starts today - let the game begin!

Thursday, May 14 is Bike to Work Day and our very own Bicycle Pedestrian Commission is partnering with Mayor Moore to bring you an extra special energizer station on the corner of Stelling and McClellan. Bike by between 7:00 and 10:00 a.m. and grab a free snack, beverage, and BTWD gift bag (remember to pledge to ride so you’re registered for the gift).
You’re also encouraged to bike to wherever you’re going on May 15 and 16, this year’s Bike to Wherever Days. More information about Bike to Work/Wherever Days and the complete list of energizer stations can be found here.
