Independence Day Celebration
Cupertino's annual Independence Day celebration is Thursday, July 4. Join the City for a delicious pancake breakfast, flag raising, children’s parade, and a concert by Phil 'n the Blanks.

New Taipei City Delegation Visits Cupertino
On Thursday, June 20, the City of Cupertino hosted a student delegation from our Friendship City of New Taipei City, Taiwan. The City is grateful for our Friendship City relationships as an important way to foster international cooperation at a local level.

Code Enforcement goes live on Accela
The Innovation Technology Applications and Code Enforcement divisions teamed up to move their critical process management of code complaints and permits to a new system called Accela to collaborate on their business development processes. On Accela’s public portal, soon applicants will be able to apply for code permits, pay their fees, and print permits online.

Middle School Bike Skills Workshop-Register Today
Registration is open for Cupertino’s yearly Middle School Bike Skills workshop series! These workshops are designed for students who will be in middle school this fall. They prepare students to ride to school and beyond with a course on the rules of the road, bike handling skills drills, and a neighborhood bike ride to tie all the lessons together. A guardian is expected to take the class and bike along with the student. Workshops are held at the Cupertino Senior Center, 21251 Stevens Creek Boulevard, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Register for National Night Out
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes public safety-community partnership and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Sign up to register your neighborhood, and host your event on National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6 from 6 to 8 p.m.
In Cupertino, we look out for each other from crime prevention to disaster preparedness and response. Together, we make our communities safer. Learn more and register by Monday, July 15 to accommodate any requests at Cupertino.gov/nno.

Disco at Dusk
On Friday, June 21, the Cupertino Parks and Recreation Department hosted its second annual Disco at Dusk. More than 120 attendees spent the evening enjoying hip tunes, dancing, and engaging in various activities. Each partygoer received wireless headphones that lit up in different colors, indicating which channel they grooved to. Special thanks to Kona Ice for keeping everyone cool on a warm evening with delicious shaved ice.
Access to Capital Business Workshop
On Tuesday, June 18, the City of Cupertino, Access SBDC (Small Business Development Center), and Cupertino Chamber of Commerce co-hosted a business workshop focusing on small business capital access, marketplace trends, and financial management strategies. The panel featured industry leaders, including Suresh Nair (Vice President of Small Business Banker of Comerica Bank), Javier Eredia (Business Banking Program Manager of KeyPoint), and Mike Dang (Small Business Loan Officer of CDC Small Business Finance). The event exemplified the power of partnership in supporting the growth and success of businesses in Cupertino.

Lehigh Southwest Cement Plant & Permanente Quarry Public Meeting FAQs
On Wednesday, March 27, Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian held the annual Lehigh Southwest Cement Plant and Permanente Quarry Public Meeting at Community Hall. Additional materials related to the meeting are now available on Supervisor Simitian's website. The content includes questions that were answered at the meeting and answers to questions that were not able to be covered during the meeting. The remaining unanswered questions document (Part B) will posted as soon as it is available.

Santa Clara County Fair Celebrates 80 Years
The Santa Clara County Fair is getting ready to celebrate its 80th anniversary with the theme “Celebrating 80 Years of Innovation: From the Fields to the Future.” The fair will occur from July 25 to July 28 and August 1 to August 4. It will be a nostalgic experience for people of all ages as it celebrates the rich history of innovation and diversity in Santa Clara County—the fair promises to be unforgettable, with exciting activities for everyone.
