Westport Senior Apartments Grand Opening
On Monday, May 6, The Pacific Companies, in collaboration with the City of Cupertino and Cupertino Chamber of Commerce, proudly unveiled the grand opening of Westport Senior Apartments, located at 21267 Stevens Creek Boulevard. This new, six-story affordable senior apartment building consists of 48 housing units for seniors living in Cupertino earning up to 60% of the area median income. The unit mix includes nine studio units, 28 one-bedroom units, and 11 two-bedroom units. Cupertino Memorial Park, a dog park, Cupertino Senior Center, and numerous restaurants are located within walking distance.

A Walk Through Time in the Corridor
Explore the fascinating history of the Stevens Creek Corridor on Sunday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to noon. You will learn about indigenous peoples, the De Anza expedition, Captain Elisha Stephens, McClellan Ranch, Baer Blacksmith shop, the Stocklmeir property, Cupertino’s early days, and its importance in the Valley of Heart’s Delight. This walk will begin at the Environmental Education Center at McClellan Ranch Preserve and end at the Stocklmeir property along the 1-mile ADA path.

National River Cleanup Day 2024
Your help is needed! Be the solution to water pollution and sign up for National River Cleanup Day, an international day of action to protect our creeks, rivers, and wildlife from trash and debris. The City of Cupertino is hosting a community creek cleanup on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to noon at Regnart Creek, 10295 Parkside Lane. Gloves, trash grabbers, and other tools will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to bring water to stay hydrated and dress for safety: wear closed-toe shoes, long sleeves, long pants, and sunscreen.

Cupertino Splash Bash Hosted by Youth Activity Board
Get ready to make a splash at the Cupertino Splash Bash! This free teen event will be held at Memorial Park on Saturday, May 25, from 2 to 5 p.m. Join the Cupertino Parks and Recreation Department and Youth Activity Board (YAB) for epic water fun featuring water balloons, water guns, and more! The first 100 attendees will receive free Kona Ice. Snacks and beverages will be provided to all. Bring your friends and dive into summer!

Cherry Blossom Festival celebrated 40th Anniversary
The annual Cherry Blossom Festival honoring Cupertino’s Sister City of Toyokawa, Japan, was held on Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28, at Memorial Park. This year marked the festival's 40th anniversary. The event included a wide selection of Japanese food and beverages, entertainment, demonstrations, cultural exhibits, arts and crafts, and clothing with all-day entertainment held at the Amphitheatre. The festival benefitted the non-profit Cupertino Sister City Committee, which promotes friendship and student exchange programs between the two cities. Local non-profit organizations supporting services for disadvantaged youth and sports, music, and language programs also had a presence to fundraise for their groups.

Retail Theft Webinar
On Thursday, April 25, the City of Cupertino and Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office hosted a webinar dedicated to combating retail theft in partnership with the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce. The event offered businesses invaluable insights, actionable strategies, and best practices for enhancing their store security against theft incidents.

The City of Cupertino and Cupertino Chamber of Commerce joined forces to honor National Small Business Week from April 28 to May 4. VTA presents Miles Traveled Mitigation Program
Join us at these upcoming in-person meetings, where VTA staff will present on Santa Clara County's Equitable Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) Mitigation Program. This meeting will highlight the solutions derived from community input preferences on how we could reduce driving. Lowering VMT means cleaner air, safer streets, and better health for all. Share your thoughts and get involved!
