Notable City Events
National Night Out Recap
Tuesday, August 1, was annual National Night Out (NNO). This is an event that promotes community, neighborhood camaraderie, and enhances the relationship between neighbors and public safety agencies. Coordinated by the Office of Emergency Management, 25 Cupertino residents, including Block Leaders and Neighborhood Watch volunteers, hosted events throughout the City.
Residents interacted with representatives from the Sheriff’s Office, Fire Department, Cupertino Office of Emergency Management, as well as other agencies. Next NNO event will be on August 6, 2024.

Movies in the Park
Movies in the Park returns to Creekside Park on Friday, August 11 with movies starting at 8 p.m. Join the City for free family-friendly movies under the stars. Don't forget your blanket with a lawn chair.
Here's the upcoming schedule:
Friday, August 11 Big Hero 6 (PG, 1h 42m) Robotics prodigy Hiro and his robot companion Baymax are here to care for humankind. When a devastating turn of events throws Hiro into the middle of a dangerous plot, he transforms Baymax and his other friends into a band of high-tech heroes.
Friday, August 18 Super Mario Bros (PG, 1h 32m) With help from Princess Peach, Mario gets ready to square off against the all-powerful Bowser to stop his plans from conquering the world.
Friday, August 25 Finding Dory (PG, 1h 37m) With help from her friends Nemo and Marlin, Dory embarks on an epic adventure under the sea to find them.
Friday, September 8 Jurassic World Dominion (PG-13, 2h 26m) Four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar, dinosaurs now live and hunt alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine the fate of humanity.

Register to Sell at Annual Citywide Garage Sale
Cupertino's 18th annual Garage Sale weekend is happening on September 23 and 24. Every year, over 100 households participate by hosting their own garage sale on this weekend, attracting thousands of shoppers from all over the Bay Area. Don't miss out on this opportunity to clear out your unwanted items and earn some extra cash. Register by Monday, September 8, to have your sale advertised on a citywide map and published on the City's website. Register today at cupertino.org/garagesale.
Back to School
We welcome all Cupertino students back to school and wish everyone a fantastic start to the new school year. New faces, friendships, teachers, and new things to learn every day. We are proud of all you and best wishes to all of you. For parents, it can be stressful as you navigate bus routes, drop off and pick up, and safe walking strategies for your children.

Silicon Valley Clean Energy Business Rebate

State of Minority Businesses in California
The California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) has released a research report fielded by the state’s leading minority chambers, Small Business Majority, and Beacon Economics to produce the State of California’s first report on the economic, fiscal, and social impact of diverse firms in California.
