Teen Summer Kickoff
Get ready to kick off your summer in style at the Teen Summer Kickoff. Join us for a free field game day at Memorial Park from 1 to 3:30 p.m. this Sunday, June 11. Enjoy an afternoon filled with thrilling recreational activities like spike ball, inflatable archery, cornhole, and more. We have snacks, beverages, and Kona Ice (while supplies last) to make the end of the school year taste even sweeter.
The Teen Summer Kickoff is brought to you by Cupertino Parks and Recreation and the Cupertino Youth Activity Board. Register for the event here.
Parent's Night Out
Looking for a reliable sitter for your kids that are 12 and younger so you can enjoy a night out? Drop your kids off at the Quinlan Community Center from 6 to 10 p.m. for an evening filled with fun activities, games, crafts, movies, and pizza.
The following dates and movies playing are:
- Wall-E on Saturday, June 17
- A Bug's Life on Friday, June 30
- Shark Tale on Saturday, July 15
- Enchanted on Friday, July 28

Cultures of the World
Embark on a captivating journey around the world at the Quinlan Community Center on Saturday, June 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. Immerse yourself in the vibrant cultures of Kenya, Mexico, Italy, and Indonesia through a delightful array of activities, fun crafts, delicious treats, and music. Step into a world of adventure without leaving the comfort of Cupertino.
CREST Awards 2023
On Thursday, May 25 the City of Cupertino held its annual awards ceremony, “Cupertino Recognizes Extra Steps Taken” or CREST Awards, to honor the outstanding contributions of Cupertino community members.

Block Leader Meeting Recap
The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) hosted the Spring Block Leader meeting in the Community Hall on Tuesday, May 30. The meeting was open to the public and advertised on the city calendar and in the May Scene. More than 40 Cupertino Block Leaders and Neighborhood Watch volunteers attended the meeting.
The agenda included the following:
- Reviewed program updates and evaluation processes
- A sustainability presentation that included home electrification, changes to composting guidelines, and a review of the food ware ordinance
- A preview of National Night Out on August 1, 2023

Cupertino Pride Month Flag Raising Ceremony
The City of Cupertino hosted a flag raising ceremony in honor of LGBTQ+ Pride Month on Thursday, June 1. Cupertino City Council along with representatives from the Santa Clara County Office of LGBTQ+ Affairs, Senator Dave Cortese's Office, Representative Ro Khanna's Office, Assembly member Evan Low's Office, and Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian's Office gave remarks about LGBTQ+ Pride Month and the importance of raising the rainbow flag in Cupertino.
Local LGBTQ+ advocacy groups including the Cupertino Library, the Q Corner, the Bill Wilson Center, and the LGBTQ Youth Space also participated by tabling, sharing resources, and engaging with attendees. The community came out excited to celebrate our local LGBTQ+ community and reaffirm our shared commitment to creating a better, more inclusive Cupertino.
