City Services During Storms
Last week, severe weather left thousands of residents without power throughout the region. City staff coordinated efforts interdepartmentally and with external agencies to maintain and restore City services with minimal impact to services offered.
A joint multi-departmental effort resulted in the activation of a Community Resource Center at Quinlan Community Center from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15. At its peak, City staff saw a high of 56 people utilizing the center to charge their phones, connect to wifi, and learn more about emergency preparedness.
The City continues to be proactive in preventative measures, cleaning and maintaining storm drains regularly, trimming trees, communicating important information with residents, working with PG&E to improve electrical grid resiliency in the future, and more.
