Housing Element Survey – closing August 19
- This 15-minute survey may directly impact the update to the Housing Element of the City’s General Plan. Community response to this survey will allow the City to be better informed of a wide variety of housing needs.
In addition, community members are encouraged to join the City Council meeting on Tuesday, August 16, during which the Housing Element Sites Inventory will be discussed by City Council.
This 6th Cycle Housing Element Update is required by State law and covers the planning period of 2023 to 2031. The Housing Element is part of Cupertino's General Plan and identifies policies and programs intended to meet the housing needs of the City's current and future residents at all income levels.
Comments and input from the community are vital to achieve a successful Housing Element Update, and participation in the community engagement process is strongly encouraged. West Nile Virus Treatment
The County of Santa Clara Vector Control District has confirmed the presence of West Nile virus-positive mosquitoes in a small area of Cupertino. Weather permitting, the area will be treated to reduce adult mosquito populations with the use of truck-mounted equipment on Thursday, August 11, starting around 10 p.m. and concluding approximately four hours later.
There is no need to relocate during the treatment. Mosquito treatments pose minimal risk to people, pets, animals, and the environment when applied by a licensed vector control professional following label instructions. All control materials used are approved by the Federal and State Environmental Protection Agencies and are widely used by Vector Control agencies throughout California.
Sign up for notices by subscribing to the Vector Control District's mosquito treatment notifications or sign up for alerts through AlertSCC.
