Climate Action Plan Draft Available for Public Review
Over the past year and a half, the Climate Action Plan 2.0 update has progressed from an idea on the City Council’s City Work Program to a reality. The project has benefited from public input submitted on the website, stakeholder meetings, public workshops, and two City Council study sessions. We are excited to release this public review draft, which features adaptation, community resilience, and keeps Cupertino at the leading edge of urban sustainability.
The community has identified the key issues, priorities, and solutions that the City should pursue. The project team has taken all of the community's input and run the math to create a draft roadmap to the City Council’s goal – a carbon neutral and zero-waste City by 2040 or earlier.
The plan is designed to meet strict guidelines for climate action plans, and contains an expansive amount of content. The project team created a three-minute video to summarize the key points for easy, quick consumption of this information. You are invited to view the video, browse the draft documents, and respond to a survey to provide your thoughts about this plan. Public comments will be presented to the City Council in a final study session in early summer.
