Ceremonial Matters and Presentations
1. Proclamation Recognizing Uenaka Family and Cupertino Florist
Council presented a proclamation recognizing the Uenaka family and their business, Cupertino Florist, for more than 50 years of service to our local community. Receiving the proclamation on behalf of the Uenaka family was Orrin Mahoney.
2. Proclamation Declaring April as Fair Housing Month
Council presented a proclamation declaring April as Fair Housing Month, commemorating the 54th anniversary of the enactment of the Federal Fair Housing Act of 1968 (Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act), which guarantees equal housing opportunities for all. Receiving the proclamation was Lark Ritson from Project Sentinel.

3. Councilmembers provided brief reports and announcements on their public activities since the prior regular Council meeting.
4. Councilmembers provided updates on their Committee assignments.
5. City Manager provided City business and an introduction of Matt Morley, the new Public Works Director.

8. Approve the March 15 City Council minutes
Council pulled this item for discussion before approving it as recommended in the Agenda.

12. Council Goals and Fiscal Year 2022-2023 City Work Program Items
Following staff presentation and discussion, Council voted to make amendments to the list of potential fiscal year 2022-2023 City Work Program items and directed staff to bring the amended list back to Council at the April 19 meeting for prioritization.
13. Corrections to Current Teen Commission Staggered Term Groups
Council continued this item to the April 19 meeting.
14. Single-Use Plastics Ordinance
Council continued this item to the April 19 meeting.
15. Economic Development Committee
Council continued this item to the April 19 meeting.
Cupertino Highway Litter Clean-Up
On Saturday, April 2, 2022, following Council coordination with CalTrans, the Cupertino City Council together with volunteers from the community spent the morning cleaning up the litter from off-ramps and an on-ramp of the De Anza Boulevard exit of I-280 in Cupertino. A great start!
In the next Mayor's Corner Column in two weeks, Mayor Paul will thank our volunteers and provide more details of the event, along with future opportunities to get engaged.
