Mayor Darcy Paul
Congratulations to Mayor Paul for being selected by Council to serve a third time as mayor.
Mayor Paul has degrees in biology and law from Harvard. Prior to the Cupertino City Council, he was President of the Board of Directors of the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce.

Vice Mayor Liang-Fang Chao
Congratulations to Vice Mayor Chao for being selected by Council to serve a third time as vice mayor.
Vice Mayor Chao is a computer engineer and scientist with over a decade of experience in managing programs, education, policy, and budget.

New City Manager Jim Throop
Welcome our new City Manager Jim Throop, with 35 years of combined experience in corporate finance and government administration.
Jim has worked for California cities since 2007. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Chapman University.

Cupertino recently named Tina Kapoor as the new full-time Economic Development Manager to lead the Economic Development Division.

California Business Comeback Guide
In December 2021, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the largest economic and business recovery package in California state history. His office provided this Guide to help businesses identify various state funding sources to help in their recovery. Download the guide here.
California Microbusiness COVID-19 Relief Grant
The County of Santa Clara has received $2.4 million to help microbusinesses affected by the pandemic. Selected businesses will each receive $2,500.
