CULVER CITY CULTURAL AFFAIRS FOUNDATION FUNDRAISER
TO BENEFIT MUSIC IN THE CHAMBERS
AKASHA RESTAURANT
JULY 31, 2013 – 4:00 PM- 8:00 PM
The Culver City Cultural Affairs Foundation, in partnership with Akasha Restaurant (located at 9543 Culver Boulevard in Downtown Culver City), will be hosting a fundraiser in support of the Arts in Culver City! A portion of each sale on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 between 4:00 and 8:00 PM will benefit Culver City’s Music in the Chambers classical music program.
As a result of the State of California’s decision to dissolve redevelopment agencies statewide on February 1, 2012, funding for the arts in Culver City received almost exclusively from the former Culver City Redevelopment Agency was lost. In response, the Foundation and other supporters of cultural programming in Culver City have increased their fundraising efforts. Show your support for the arts in Culver City while you enjoy the wonderful food and beverages at Akasha!
Akasha Restaurant, owned and operated by Chef Akasha Richmond and her husband Alan Schulman, has generously agreed to donate 10% of sales during the fundraiser to the Cultural Affairs Foundation. Come enjoy wine tasting (Wednesdays are “1/2 Off Wine Wednesdays”), a Happy Hour menu from 4:00-7:00 PM, and the full dinner menu from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. Akasha Restaurant can be contacted by phone 310.845.1700 or via website at www.akasharestaurant.com.
The fundraiser is open to the public. Reservations are recommended but not required. Parking is available in parking structures located throughout Downtown Culver City (the first two hours of parking are FREE with a small charge applicable afterwards).
The Culver City Cultural Affairs Foundation is a nonprofit organization which promotes and supports historic preservation, public art, and cultural programming in Culver City by seeking out and securing private and public sector funding. Credit card donations may be made electronically via www.culvercity.org/donate. Checks may be made payable to the Culver City Cultural Affairs Foundation and mailed to Culver City Cultural Affairs Foundation, 9770 Culver Boulevard, Culver City, CA, 90232.
