Culver City's Inaugural Lunar New Year Celebration
Sunday, February 22nd | 3 - 6 PM | The Culver Steps at Town Plaza
Culver City is proud to begin a new tradition with its first-ever Lunar New Year Celebration! Join us on Sunday, February 22, from 3 to 6 PM in Downtown Culver City for an afternoon honoring the Lunar New Year and the rich cultures, histories, and traditions celebrated by communities around the world.
This family-friendly event will feature cultural experiences, performances, and opportunities to come together in the spirit of renewal, unity, and good fortune. All are welcome to help us mark the start of this exciting new annual celebration in Culver City. Lineup and activation details will be announced soon!

Sepulveda Connects Open House & Community Design Workshop
Join us for a community workshop exploring potential design treatments for Sepulveda Blvd and neighborhoods across Culver City. As part of Sepulveda Connects, the City is considering a range of approaches to reduce cut-through traffic and create safer, more comfortable streets while expanding options for walking, biking, taking transit, and driving.
These workshops are an opportunity to learn about and discuss possible community design treatments, share your experiences, and help shape solutions that work citywide.

Culver City E-Waste Collection & Paper Shredding Event
Saturday, February 7th | 9 AM - 1 PM | Syd Kronenthal Park
Dispose of your old electronics in a socially and ecologically responsible way. Drive up, drop off, and drive away. Staff are available to assist with removing items from vehicles.
We want all of your electronics, but please note we do not accept refrigerators, thermostats, and air conditioners. Your e-waste will be handled in a way that protects the planet, keeps your data safe, and creates jobs for people facing serious barriers to work. All hard drives and data storage devices will be destroyed according to NIST standards. View the requirements of the E-Waste Collection event on the City's website.

Community Movement Workshops with the Artist Laureate
Sundays in February | 2 - 4 PM | Culver West Alexander Park Recreation Center
Join Culver City Artist Laureate Victoria Marks for Sunday afternoon community workshops focused on movement, creativity, and connection. These welcoming, low-pressure sessions invite participants of all experience levels to move together, enjoy music, and build relationships in a joyful, supportive environment. No prior experience is required—just come as you are.
You can RSVP with the City using an online form. The Artist Laureate program is a program of the City of Culver City and its Cultural Affairs Commission, with support from the Culver City Arts Foundation.

Volunteer to Support Compost in Culver City
Culver City is expanding access to community composting with the launch of a new Compost Hub at Syd Kronenthal Park, in partnership with LA Compost. The hub provides residents with a simple, local way to divert food scraps from landfills while supporting healthy soils and meaningful climate action.

Help save lives by helping to fill critical blood supply shortages at our Community Blood Drive with the Red Cross.

Please join the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) for a presentation on accessibility for all in your business. Topics covered will include:
- What is public accommodation?
- Public Accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California Building Codes (CBC)
- Common Accessibility Issues
- Understanding the basics of California law

Community Invited to Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander-Owned Business Night Market
Friday, February 20th | 5 - 8 PM | Culver City High School
Night Market is an opportunity to uplift Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) owned businesses, showcase career pathways, provide space for community building, and demonstrate the contributions of AANHPI community members in celebration of intersectional identity and culture. Parents Night Out 2026

Culver City CERT Training Opportunity
Saturday, February 28th & Saturday, March 7th | Culver City Fire Department Training Facility
The Culver City Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) plays a vital role in supporting first responders, neighborhoods, and partner agencies during large-scale emergencies and planned events. CERT members are trained volunteers who strengthen Culver City’s disaster response by providing critical assistance when it is needed most.
The Culver City Fire Department (CCFD) is offering a free, two-day CERT skills training that fulfills the in-person requirement for full CERT certification. Residents and workers interested in emergency preparedness and community service are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to build skills, connect with neighbors, and help keep Culver City resilient.

Screenland 5K Returns to Downtown Culver City
Sunday, March 1st | 7 - 11 AM | Ivy Station
Celebrate vintage, velvet and valor at the 10th annual Screenland 5K on March 1, 2026, featuring motion picture-inspired visual and performing arts for the entire family and a hilarious costume contest. Register now on the Screenland 5K website to star in the big run that pays tribute to the movies during Oscar month.
Lace up for free enjoyable Screenland 5K fitness workouts on Sundays at 3 pm at the Culver City High School track. The next one-hour sessions will be held February 15th and 22nd. Wear comfortable clothes and running shoes.

City Council Awards Performing Arts Grants to 26 Organizations
The Culver City City Council awarded 26 organizations $200,518 for the 2026 Performing Arts Grant Program for presentations of music, theater and dance events. The Cultural Affairs Commission and staff have implemented Culver City’s Performing Arts Grant Program since its inception in 1994. A Peer Review Panel consisting of eight independent individuals, with professional performing arts expertise and non-profit arts experience, scored the applications. Individual grants will range from $4,000 to $8,000 per organization.

The amount of grant funding available is dependent upon the total deposits made into the City’s Cultural Trust Fund each fiscal year. Additionally, the 2026 Performing Arts Grant Program is supported by contributions from Sony Pictures Entertainment and the Culver City Arts Foundation.
