Recycling items is one small but helpful way we can reduce waste, however, it’s important that we don’t “wish-cycle.” Wish-cycling is where we hope an item is recyclable even though it’s not. By putting things that don’t belong in the recycling system, contamination can occur and ruin the entire batch.

Remember that toilets are not designed to function as trash cans. While it may be tempting to dispose of items like so-called "flushable" wet wipes in this manner, doing so can lead to clogged pipes and costly repairs. To safeguard our sewage system and protect the environment, adhere to the principle of the Three P's: Pee, Poop, and Paper (Toilet)! These are the only items that you should flush.

Prioritize the use of reusable items such as water bottles, cloth tote bags, and reusable shower bottles.
