Culver City Launches City Sponsored
“Love Local” Music Program
Local Musicians Encouraged to Apply
The City of Culver City is pleased to launch the “Love Local” Music Program to enhance economic recovery efforts, enrich commercial corridors, and support neighborhood businesses.
As part of the #ChooseCulverCity campaign, local musicians - who are Culver City residents or current employees of a business in the city - are invited to perform in designated City spaces to enliven business districts throughout the community. Potential performance locations in Culver City include the Downtown area, the Arts District, West Washington Boulevard, and Westfield Culver City. The "Love Local" music program will be a key attraction as part of the community’s Buy Local activities anticipated this summer and fall.
Musicians interested in participating in the program may complete an electronic application and upload relevant information by May 6th. The Economic Recovery Task Force Performance Subcommittee will review applications and make recommendations for a slate of musicians to participate in the pilot program. The performances selected by the Subcommittee would be considered City sponsored, included on the “Love Local” Master Calendar (coming soon!), and promoted via the City’s website and social media.
Culver City is a five-square-mile, urban community of 39,000 residents surrounded mostly by the City of Los Angeles but also shares a border with unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. It is centrally located on the Westside near Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and Los Angeles International Airport. Culver City is particularly known for its well-run public school system, "small town" charm, growing high-tech and creative economies, and a dynamic downtown that is regionally known as a destination for restaurants, live theater, and art galleries.
