With LA County now in the low community risk level, guidelines for masking and vaccine verification have been updated. The City of Culver City is aligned with the County of Los Angeles Public Health Department's requirements for masking. Indoor masking is now strongly recommended, but not required, for vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals in public settings and businesses, except in high-risk settings where federal or state regulations continue to require masking (see below). Individual businesses may choose to have their own requirements, such as requiring a mask indoors.
When evaluating your personal risk, remember there are many ways you can add layers of protection!
2. Public Health Continues to Strongly Recommend Masking Indoors in Public Settings to Protect those at Elevated Risk
With updated masking guidance now in effect in LA County, Public Health continues to strongly recommend wearing masks indoors in public settings, particularly if you, or someone you live with, is at elevated risk of severe illness from COVID-19.
Where masks are still required regardless of vaccination status:
Public transit
Emergency and homeless shelters
Health care settings
Correctional and detention facilities
K – 12 Schools (still required indoors until March 12)
Long-term care facilities
Masking is still required for those who exit isolation or quarantine early through day 10 of their isolation or quarantine period.
As a reminder, people can wear a mask in indoor or outdoor settings if they choose to.
