1. Parents Encouraged to Vaccinate Their Children 5 to 11 Years Old
Since March 2020, nearly 81,000 children 5 to 11 years old have tested positive for COVID-19 in Los Angeles County and nearly 400 children 5 to 11 were hospitalized. Of the 996 new cases reported today, 140 were among children between the ages of 5 to 11 years old.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health) encourages parents to protect their children and prevent transmission of COVID-19 by getting everyone in their family vaccinated who is eligible. Now that Los Angeles County vaccine providers are administering Pfizer vaccine to children 5 to 11 years old, anyone five years and older living or working in LA County can get vaccinated.
Similar to making a COVID-19 vaccine appointment for adults and teens, parents can make an appointment for their children by usingCalifornia’s My Turn website or the Vaccinate LA County website Also on thePublic Health website, is a list and a map that allows people to click to find a pediatric vaccination site near them.

Vaccinations are always free and open to eligible residents and workers regardless of immigration status. Appointments are not needed at all Public Health vaccination sites where first, second, and third doses are available.
2. Booster Doses Available Now
Vaccine providers across Los Angeles County are currently administering boosters for all three FDA-approved vaccines; Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson. People eligible for boosters include adults of any age who received their first Johnson & Johnson dose at least two months ago, and people who got the second dose of their Pfizer or Moderna vaccines at least six months ago and are 65-plus years old or are over 18 and live in long-term care settings, have underlying medical conditions, or work or live in high-risk settings.

If you don’t have internet access, can’t use a computer, or you’re over 65, you can call 1-833-540-0473 for help finding an appointment, connecting to free transportation to and from a vaccination site, or scheduling a home-visit if you are homebound.
3. Culver City Booster Shot Clinic Coming to the Culver City Senior Center on November 20, 2021
The Culver City Parks, Recreation and Community Services team at the Culver City Senior Center will host a COVID-19 Booster Shot Clinic in partnership with LA County Public Health on Saturday, November 20, 2021. The clinic will be from 9 AM to 4 PM; online appointments should be made in advance.
All participants must bring a photo ID and their white vaccine card to the clinic. When you register you will receive a confirmation email with your appointment time. Please note this is a COVID-19 Booster-only clinic.
4. Culver City Vaccination Verification Requirements Effective November 29, 2021
In order to protect public health and safety, effective November 29, 2021, proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required to enter certain indoor businesses and City facilities.
Beginning on November 12, 2021, businesses are required to display information about the City’s vaccination verification requirement prominently on their premises, visible to patrons prior to entrance and in any employee breakroom. View signage requirements and a sample vaccination verification implementation protocol on the City’s website.Public Health continues to require everyone to wear a well-fitting mask in indoor public settings, regardless of vaccination status.

Businesses
Businesses are required to verify proof of vaccination for anyone 18 years of age and older.
On-site employees are required to provide proof of vaccination to their employers.
Unvaccinated patrons must use outdoor facilities. Only if no outdoor facilities are available, they can use indoor facilities with a negative COVID-19 test and while wearing a well-fitting mask.
Unvaccinated patrons without a negative COVID-19 test may go inside briefly to order food to go or use the bathroom, while wearing a well-fitting mask at all times.
City Facilities
For City facilities, unvaccinated individuals will be provided alternative arrangements for access to City services, to be determined on a case-by-case basis, including online or remote services, outdoor service, or proof of a negative COVID-19 test to access indoor services that cannot be provided in other ways.
Outdoor Large Events
Outdoor large events (between 5,000 and 9,999 attendees) must verify proof of vaccination.
5. County Requirements for Bars, Nightclubs and Lounges
Bars, breweries, wineries and distilleries must require patrons 12 years and older to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination status with a photo ID for entry. As of November 4, 2021, all patrons 12 and older must provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 for entry into the facility for indoor service. Children under the age of two years are exempt. Additionally, by November 4, 2021, all on-site employees must provide their employer with proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.
Nightclubs and lounges that are only open to persons 18 years and older, must require patrons and on-site personnel to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination status with a photo ID for entry. As of November 4, 2021, all patrons must provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 for entry into the facility indoor service. Additionally, by November 4, 2021, all on-site employees must provide their employer with proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.
A negative COVID-19 test result does not qualify as an alternative to providing proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

6. Flu Immunizations are More Important than Ever this Year
Don’t wait. Protect yourself and your family. According to the Los Angeles Department of Public Health, everyone 6 months and older should receive a flu immunization, especially:
Pregnant women of if you just had a baby
Children 5 years and older
Aging adults 65 years and older
People with chronic medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, or weakened immune systems)
