Thank you for your interest in volunteering in the Culver City community!

Volunteering is a deep tradition in Culver City. Thankfully, there are still volunteer opportunities available during these interesting times. Join others to address the pandemic's impact locally and globally on our health, well-being, learning, and livelihoods!

The City of Culver City continues to cooperate with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to respond to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Los Angeles County.

Culver City Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Volunteers

The Culver City Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is still accepting volunteers!

If you would like to volunteer to help the City assist those in need (including older adults), please email the City or call the City’s Coronavirus Hotline at (310) 253-6890 (7:30 AM to 5:30 PM). If you email or leave a message at the Hotline after hours, please include your name, phone number, email address, and any special skills you may have (language, equipment, certifications, etc.) and preferred volunteer activity (deliver groceries to older adults, make phone calls, etc.)

Create Your Own Food Pantry or Donate to a Local Food Bank

Food pantries are critical in addressing food insecurity. Consider starting your own mini food pantry in an easily accessible area with no impact on local traffic. What should you stock the food pantry with? Generally canned vegetables and canned proteins like tuna and beans, personal care items and paper goods are a great start.

If you do not have the resources or time to make your own mini food pantry, consider making a non-perishable food donation to SAVES or the Culver City Emergency Food Relief program (#9 at the link). In addition, FeedCulver.org is still accepting monetary donations. When you donate to FeedCulver.org, you’re giving back in more ways than one. You’re helping many people within the community who’ve been impacted by the pandemic. Check out the FeedCulver website to learn more!

Foster or Adopt an Animal

Now is the perfect time to help dogs, cats, and animals in shelters that have been looking for homes. Contact Culver City’s local Adopt & Shop at 310-933-6863. They are currently doing adoptions by appointment only on Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays. To view their available animals and to apply for adoptions please visit their website.

Coastal Cleanup Month 2020

This year, in order to keep our community safe amidst COVID-19, Heal the Bay will promote Coastal Cleanup Month as they encourage individuals, families, and households to participate in cleanups throughout the entire month of September. Each week Heal the Bay will highlight the wonders of a different section of our watershed with special curriculum, zoom panels with experts, and best practices to get outside and clean up in your own area.
