Rental Assistance Program Update
At its regular meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, the City Council will consider allocating additional funding to the Claremont Temporary Housing Stabilization and Relocation Program. The City stopped accepting new applications on January 31, 2026; however, households currently enrolled in the program will continue receiving their monthly rental assistance through December 2026. Without additional funding, the program is currently scheduled to conclude at the end of December.
If you would like to provide written public comment for the City Council’s consideration, please email Deputy City Manager Katie Wand at Kwand@claremontca.gov. Comments received by 12pm on Thursday, October 8 will be included with the staff report, which is scheduled to be published that evening. Members of the public will also have an opportunity to provide comments during the October 13 City Council meeting, either in person or via Zoom, in accordance with the City’s meeting procedures.

Financial Assistance Available for Sewer and Sanitation Services
The City of Claremont offers two programs to help eligible residents reduce the cost of sewer and sanitation services.
Low-Income Discount Qualifying low-income residents may receive a 20 percent discount on base monthly sewer and sanitation service charges. Eligibility is based on annual gross household income limits established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Los Angeles County. Residents must complete an application and provide documentation demonstrating that their household meets the applicable income requirements.
Discounted Valet Sanitation Service The City also offers a deeply discounted rate for valet service for qualifying residents. Valet service provides assistance to customers who are unable to move their sanitation containers by having sanitation staff bring the containers from private property to the curb for collection and return them to private property after service. To qualify for the valet discount, residents must meet the City's low-income eligibility requirements and provide a physician's certification documenting a physical disability that prevents them from safely moving their containers.
Residents who meet the applicable requirements are encouraged to apply. For more information, click the link below or contact the Utility Billing office at (909) 399-5453 for assistance.
