City Ventures Project - Planning Commission Review
The Planning Commission will review a proposed residential condo project on American Avenue on Tuesday, May 6 at 7pm. City Ventures has submitted an application to the City to redevelop the 2.99-acre property located at 840 S Indian Hill Boulevard. This property is currently operated by a tennis club. The proposed project is a for-sale, single-family attached community comprised of 70 two and three-story homes. Each home has at least two bedrooms, at least two bathrooms, and a two-car attached garage. The development is comprised of ten separate buildings mostly with three stories. The site will be accessible by a driveway on American Avenue. The project would contain 140 covered parking spaces in garages along with eleven uncovered spaces on the property. A portion of the units will be moderate to low income in accordance with the City’s Inclusionary Housing Ordinance.

Southern California Edison will be performing night work on Indian Hill Boulevard at Scripps Drive starting this evening (May 1) at 5:30pm. Work will be completed by 6:30am on Friday morning (May 2). The work will require traffic control on Indian Hill Boulevard, north and south of Scripps Drive, in the lane closest to the west side curb. Southern California Edison will be accessing two vaults, installing new equipment to accommodate a new connection. A contract inspector will monitor the work and ensure traffic control is in place. Minor traffic delays can be expected.

Pooch Park Reopens
The Pooch Park reopened on Thursday, May 1 following the month-long maintenance and re-establishment period. Remember to be a good pet owner by always cleaning up after your pet. Thank you for keeping the parks clean! As a reminder, dogs are not allowed in other City parks, except for Rancho San Jose Park and the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park.
Tree Removal Notification Opt-In Program
The City of Claremont strives to maintain a thriving, robust urban forest, and the Community Services Department explores all alternatives before recommending removal of a City tree. It is the City’s policy to protect and preserve healthy trees whenever possible; however, preservation of City trees is not always possible, and removal is necessary.
The City has launched a new webpage to keep residents informed about upcoming non-emergency tree removals. Trees scheduled for non-emergency removal will be posted on the 1st and 16th day of the month with a location, photo, and cause for removal. Residents may object to the removal of a tree by filling out an online appeal form. Removals that are objected will be reconsidered and further documentation will be provided. To ensure you receive information on tree removals, please sign up for email notifications by clicking the link below.
