Tree Trimming
Tree trimming in Grid 3 began in early-Fall 2024. Grid 3 is the middle section of the City, between the 210 freeway and Foothill Boulevard. Tree trimmers are currently working in the area near Joāt Park. The trimmers will work their way east until all City-owned trees within this area are trimmed. Trimming will conclude in late spring.
Reforestation
Reforestation has begun. Over 90 trees have been planted so far this season. All newly planted trees will receive weekly watering for the first 90-days, as necessary. After the 90-day period, a water bag will be installed. This is the property owner's indication to begin watering. New tree requests will be taken until March 2025. All new tree requests should be emailed to trees@claremontca.gov.
Community Services rolled out a pilot yard sign program to bring awareness to the Reforestation Program. Every property that accepts a new tree will have a yard sign installed. The yard sign acts as a visual representation of a new tree and has a QR code that leads directly to the website where you can learn about the importance of the urban forest and request a new tree. The signs will be removed by the City's contractor and returned to the City once the new tree is planted. More...
