ENJOY AN AUDIO TOUR OF THE LIBRARY
The following audio tours are available free of charge. Patrons may borrow an mp3 player at the circulation desk to listen to the tours.
“Artwalk” is a great way to learn about the 11 works of art permanently on display in the Library. Even if you are a frequent visitor to the Library, you will better understand both the artists and their works, which add so much to the interior décor of the facility. While the tour includes all works in a set order, you are free to create your own tour of select pieces in any order. Each piece of artwork corresponds to a specific number that, when entered into the player, brings up a short interpretive narrative about the art piece. The content also poses questions to the listeners to help stimulate their thoughts and feelings about the artwork they are viewing. The full tour takes about 25 minutes.
“Journey Through Time” is a complete self-guided tour of the Library which takes about 50 minutes. The tour offers interesting facts, lively characters, sound effects and original music. H.G. Wells serves as the tour leader, bringing along Jules Verne in his time machine to show him the marvels at the Cerritos Library. Along the way, guests meet such historical luminaries as Johannes Gutenberg and Julia Morgan, who help guide participants on a journey of discovery.
