DECEMBER 17, 2020

To help reduce the impact on transmissions and hospitalizations from the current COVID-19 virus surge, the City and County of San Francisco has issued a Public Health Emergency Order that will go into effect at 12:01 AM on Friday, December 18, 2020. This travel quarantine will remain in effect until 12:01 AM on Monday, January 4, 2020, and may be extended as necessary if the surge continues.

The Order imposes a mandatory 10-day quarantine on anyone traveling, moving, or returning to the City and County of San Francisco from anywhere outside the 10 San Francisco Bay Area counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, San Mateo, Solano, and Sonoma. Riders from Yolo, Sacramento, and Placer counties must quarantine unless they are essential workers or fit into the list of exceptions detailed in the Order.

Anyone who has COVID-19 or who has recently been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 must isolate or quarantine regardless of where they traveled from.
