BART Lake Merritt-Fruitvale Closure – May 6 -7 and May 13-14
Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority sent this bulletin at 05/05/2017 06:59 AM PDTThis weekend, Saturday, May 6, and Sunday, May 7 (and then again May 13-14), BART will conduct track work between its Lake Merritt and Fruitvale stations. (This closure was originally supposed to happen this weekend, April 29 and 30, but has been cancelled and rescheduled for May 6-7.)
No trains will run between Lake Merritt and Fruitvale BART stations, and the Lake Merritt BART station will be closed. Capitol Corridor passengers connecting to BART at Richmond Station traveling to San Francisco will be unaffected. BART service to other East Bay stations – except Lake Merritt, which will be closed – is unaffected.
Capitol Corridor passengers who connect to BART at Coliseum traveling to San Francisco will be affected on selected weekends. For travel to San Francisco, passengers can connect to the Capitol Corridor/Amtrak bus at Emeryville, or take Capitol Corridor to Richmond and transfer to BART at that station. Passengers traveling to Dublin/Pleasanton on BART must take BART to 19th Street, transfer to a bus and then board a train at Fruitvale to reach your destination.
This work is part of BART’s efforts to rebuild the system to make it safer, more reliable and to reduce traffic. Track closures will occur on selected weekends between April and July 2017.
