Youth sports programs start next week - enroll your kids before space runs out! Our sports programs help young people develop teamwork, leadership, and confidence while building physical fitness and friendships.
 Basketball Classes
Welcome to this brand new afterschool basketball class! Each class will focus on the fundamentals: ball handling, passing, and shooting. Throughout the class, the instructor will also incorporate fun games and scrimmages.
No experience is needed to participate, and players of all abilities are encouraged to join. Equipment is provided.

Skate Classes
Learn the fundamentals of skateboarding! Participants will need a quality skateboard, shoes, and helmet (pads recommended). The skate park will be closed to the public during class hours. Open to all levels of skaters.

Baseball Classes
We are back with afterschool youth baseball classes! All of our youth sports programs are open to all genders. Youth baseball focuses on participation and fair play. Our goal will be to teach the fundamentals of hitting mechanics, infield/outfield fielding, and base running, all while having fun.
No experience is needed to participate, and players of all abilities are encouraged to join.

We will be offering two sports camps in the fall on days BUSD schools are not open. Registration opens on Monday, August 11 for Berkeley residents; Monday, August 18 for non-residents.
Fall All Star Sports Camp
 Fall All Star Sports Camp is designed to introduce young athletes to a variety of different sports through spirited play geared towards individual ability levels. Participants will be exposed to a mixture of traditional sports and non-traditional sports, gain self-confidence, and acquire a love of sports to match their interests. Participants will learn the rules and essentials of each sport through skill-based games and scrimmages. During the mornings, participants will focus on skill and technique development of the sports while also gaining an understanding of playing in a scrimmage format. The afternoons will consist of scrimmages where participants can display skills and techniques learned from the morning sessions. Please bring a lunch and snack.

Fall Skate Camp
Fall Skate Camp is Berkeley's premier skateboard camp and is open to all levels of skaters. These one- or two-day camps offer campers an exciting and engaging skateboarding experience from some of the best skateboarders in the area. They will learn the basics and learn new tricks to show off.

 This annual event celebrates the life and memory of Terrence McCrary Jr, the new namesake of the skate park. Terrence grew up riding in the Berkeley Skate Park and was a Counselor-in-Training for the Recreation Division's Skate Camp in 2012.
This event will feature a skate jam, raffle prize giveaways, art creations, live music (DJ and music artist) and refreshments. Come out and celebrate Terrence's everlasting impact on our community.

Calling all skate goblins and ghouls!
Come to our annual Halloween Skate Jam. See how different skaters perform tricks and show off your own moves. Costumes are encouraged, helmets are required. Treats and sweets will be given out.

Registration opens on September 15 for Berkeley residents and September 22 for non-residents.
 This program helps players stay in mid-season form through the Winter Break. Campers will develop skills in dribbling, shooting, passing, and understanding of defensive and offensive sets. This half-day camp will feature expert training and instruction designed for players of all abilities. Participants should wear athletic attire. The camp will be indoors, but may include some outdoor court play, weather permitting.

Discover what the Berkeley Waterfront has to offer!
 Join us for a free tumbler and a staff-led boat ride on August 16 to kick off your Waterfront adventure and start collecting rewards. The event will run from 10:00 am -12:00 pm, with tours leaving every 20 minutes.
This relaxed, guided experience begins at the Marina Office with a safety intro, a 15-minute boat ride across the harbor and a drop off at the Double Tree Boathouse dock.
Learn about different projects within the Harbor, and the Marina’s newest electric boat! There you can make use of the Tumbler Tour deal, with BOGO free dessert and a free nonalcoholic beverage in order to claim your sticker. Continue back to the Marina office on a short, ½ mile self-guided walk past key Waterfront landmarks. You’ll leave with a free tumbler, a sticker and everything you need to complete the self-guided Tumbler Tour through September 30.
