UC Berkeley Campuswide Entrepreneurship Mixer showcases resources available to student entrepreneurs
On February 10, 200+ UC Berkeley students attended the UC Berkeley Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET) entrepreneurial mixer. Attendees had the opportunity to network and learn about local resources available to help them in their entrepreneurial journeys. The event was sponsored by the City of Berkeley Office of Economic Development and Berkeley Startup Cluster giving local leaders the chance to engage with students looking to expand and develop their innovative ideas in Berkeley.
Check out the resources and networks showcased including: Big Ideas @ The Blum Center for Developing Economies and the Berkeley Haas Entrepreneurship Hub (eHub).
Check out two featured episodes from government relations and politics consultant Jared Asch's Capstone Conversation Podcast that featured the City of Berkeley's Office of Economic Development's Elizabeth Redman Cleveland and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab's Todd Pray. Kicking off 2025’s STEM CareerX Day series, over 25 Berkeley High School (BHS) students visited UC Berkeley's world class Berkeley SkyDeck startup accelerator. The group, comprised of students from BHS’ National Society of Black Engineers, Jr (NSBE, Jr) high school club chapter, heard from two SkyDeck companies, and then the students pitched their own ideas for cancer treatment, detection of microplastics in water, cars powered by water and more.
Days later, the Bayer GROW & Women in Technology employee resource groups hosted a STEM CareerX Day tour with 28 female BHS students from the Berkeley chapters of NSBE, Jr, Hispanic Engineers & Scientists, STEM Sprouts, and the local Biotech Partners Inc. The tour featured Bayer’s cell therapy labs and packaging department that ships over 1.3 million vials of life saving medicine to over 40 different countries each year. After the tour, there was a panel discussion with employees that highlighted the many different career paths that led them to their current job in Berkeley.
A huge thank you to all that participated.
