BERKELEY STARTUP CLUSTER HIGHLIGHTS

Where's the innovation happening in Berkeley?

bsc map

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and a tough fundraising environment in 2023, there are still more than 300 startups in Berkeley! In fact, Pitchbook ranked UC Berkeley #1 in venture-funded startups founded by undergrad alumni from any university worldwide and #2 for the overall number of startup founders

The Berkeley Startup Cluster has updated its innovation sector website map with the latest data.  Companies are color coded by industry and shown by address + City Council district. The most significant concentrations of startups are found on the UC Berkeley campus, in Downtown Berkeley, and in West Berkeley, with software and biotech comprising the greatest share.

Check out the map and let us know if we are missing a Berkeley startup.
