BERKELEY STARTUP CLUSTER HIGHLIGHTS

Check out how local manufacturers support the Berkeley innovation ecosystem during Manufacturing Week 2023

Adams & Chittenden

It's National Manufacturing Day this Friday (Oct.6) and the City of Berkeley has organized tours throughout the week of local producers who make everything from bagels to scientific glassware to sound-dampening phone booths offering privacy in the office.

While most of the tours are already sold out, a few slots still remain to see behind-the-scenes at Zenbooth, the first American company dedicated to creating quiet spaces for the workplace. Also, an article in Berkeleyside explains how Adams & Chittenden has been making scientific glassware by hand in Berkeley for 30 years to support Berkeley Lab, UC Berkeley, and scientists in Berkeley and around the world.

Sign up for a tour of Zenbooth this Thursday (Oct. 5) in West Berkeley. Read the article about Adams & Chittenden on DiscoveredinBerkeley.com.

Next Wednesday, join citywide leaders to celebrate businesses #DiscoveredinBerkeley

BT&T 2023

Wednesday, October 11, 5:00 to 7:30pm
Ciel Creative Space 935 Carleton St. Berkeley

Join the Berkeley Chamber, City of Berkeley, Bayer, Berkeley Lab, startup founders, Berkeley business owners, and other community leaders at "Berkeley Today and Tomorrow" on Oct.11 to celebrate local business innovation, creativity and resilience!

Featuring more than 35 diverse businesses, the interactive event promises to be an inspirational gathering of business owners #DiscoveredinBerkeley — and will showcase the innovations being discovered here, as well as the exceptional businesses one can ‘discover’ when exploring Berkeley’s commercial districts. For example, Etosha Cave, Co-Founder and CSO of Twelve, and Helen Meyer, Co-Founder of Meyer Sound, will speak about their entrepreneurial journeys during a fireside chat moderated by Berkeley Unified School District Superintendent Enikia Ford Mothel. And, throughout the evening, the leaders of startups Geopogo, Squishy Robotics, and Wild Earth will showcase their novel products and technologies at a mini business expo.

Plus, you’ll be satiated by a delicious menu from The Table Catering, Cali Alley, and Hugh Groman Catering while sipping beverages from local wineries, breweries, and sake producers, while enjoying the ambience of Ciel Creative Space's state-of-the-art photo & film production studios.
