The Berkeley Lab recently launched an entirely new web presence at lbl.gov, the culmination of a two-year project. It is their first significant web redesign since 2006, and visitors to the site can learn more about how the Lab is addressing critical challenges for science, people, and the planet. The new site spotlights the Lab's research, capabilities, and people, while reflecting its dedication to the principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accountability.

The Accelerator is ICA's flagship, 14-week program for established, growth-stage companies earning ~$500K or more in annual revenue. Qualifying participants are eligible for up to $750K in investment from ICA following completion.
The Lab is an 8-week program for high-potential, seed-stage companies earning revenue and includes up to $50K in investment.

BERKELEY INNOVATORS MAKING NEWS
Berkeley-headquartered UPSIDE Foods recently announced that it became the first company in the world to receive a "No Questions" letter (NQL) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for cultivated meat, poultry, or seafood. This letter indicates that the FDA accepts UPSIDE's conclusion that its cultivated chicken is safe to eat.

Caribou Biosciences, a Berkeley-based biopharmaceutical company, announced that it has received clearance of its Investigational New Drug (IND) application from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for CB-011, a genome-edited allogeneic cell therapy for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma cancer.

Rachel Haurwitz was recently recognized as one of the most admired CEOs by the SF Business Times. Ms. Haurwitz cofounded Caribou Biosciences back in 2011 and has overseen its growth to a publicly-traded company of 124 employees. Ms. Haurwitz credits the recognition partly to the company's diversity: "There are few publicly traded companies that have more women than men on the board. Harvest Thermal–a Berkeley-based startup that makes a clean energy home heating and cooling system–announced that it raised an additional $2.5 million in "seed-plus" funding. The round brings Harvest Thermal's total funding to just shy of $7 million.
