Come early, bring low-height beach chairs and spend an evening watching a movie with community in a park.
Our summer Movies in the Park series continues tonight at Greg Brown Park with a showing of the live action animated film "Lion King.”
As with all our summer movies, the film will be shown on a large portable 20-foot by 12-foot inflatable movie screen with premium audio-visual movie equipment for outdoor cinemas.
Bring friends, join neighbors, and revel in some of the gems of Berkeley: our parks.
Lion King (Live Action) Friday July 1, 8:45pm Greg Brown Park, 1907 Harmon St
Come early, bring low-height beach chairs
Limited street parking is available. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the movie begins.
Bring blankets, sleeping bags, and/or low-back beach chairs with a maximum height of 9 inches off the ground, so the view of other patrons is not blocked. A flashlight or headlamp makes walking out at the end of the night easier.
This is an alcohol-free event.
Six events remain in this movie series
Mark your calendar for the other events in our summer movie series:
Come out, see friends, meet neighbors and enjoy our movie in a park!

Help keep our community safe this holiday weekend by not using fireworks within the city, especially in the Berkeley hills.
Not only are fireworks illegal in Berkeley and many nearby communities, they can cause severe injuries and start fires.
These risks are especially worrisome in the Berkeley hills, where fires can ignite and spread quickly – especially among the ongoing, severe drought conditions.

You can give general input or use online tools to give specific guidance on a draft plan for how and where nearly 9,000 housing units can be built in Berkeley to meet state requirements.
This plan, which would start in 2023 and last through 2031, contains goals, policies, and programs to guide the City’s decision-making around the rehabilitation and development of a wide range of housing.
Known as a “Housing Element,” the plan addresses racial and social equity, as well as protections for vulnerable and historically impacted communities. The plan will include an inventory of sites currently zoned to accommodate Berkeley’s portion of housing required of the region.
