These all-inclusive sleep-away camps for all ages are well known for their delicious meals, entertaining activities, excellent customer service, and beautiful surroundings. Everything you need to create lifelong memories.
Family Camp | ALL AGES
Tuolumne and Echo Lake Family Camp programs are all-inclusive experiences that offer Camp activities for all ages. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, guardian, caregiver, or a single-family household, Family Camp offers opportunities to relax, to connect with other campers, and to enjoy a fun-filled activity schedule each session that is intentionally designed to welcome & engage participants of all ages. Campers will enjoy arts & crafts, swimming, sports & games, nature center activities, natural exploration, hiking around Camp or into the beautiful surrounding areas, archery, instruction from Artists In Residence, and more!
Family Camp includes programming for tots, children, pre-teens, teenagers, and adults. This full-service experience includes all of your meals, recreation programs, and access to all Camp has to offer for you and your group.

Affordable Pricing
This summer, guests can choose from a wide variety of session lengths, programs, and pricing to best meet the needs of their group. For instance, the Mid-week stay (3 nights and 4 days) at BTC for a family of 3 is less than $850. Additionally, we offer special pricing for single-parent families at both Camps and in an effort to expand scholarship eligibility this year, we have significantly reduced the financial barriers for lower income Berkeley residents attend Camp.

We are excited to announce the Grand Reopening of Berkeley Tuolumne Camp (BTC) which has been completely rebuilt from the ground up. Tucked in next to the Tuolumne River, BTC looks incredible and is completely ADA accessible. BTC programs include Family Camp, Counselor-In-Training, an all-inclusive Adult 21+ Camp session, single-night tent rentals in August, a new Fresh Adventures Weekend (designed to introduce new campers to Tuolumne Camp), group rentals, and more!
The Tuolumne Family Camp season begins on Monday, June 27, 2022, and campers can choose from Week-long (M-Su), Mid-Week (M-Th), or Weekend (Th-Su) sessions. Let us cook all your meals and keep your kids busy with camp games, activities, and events, while you relax and enjoy the beauty of the Stanislaus National Forest. Camp activities for kids and adults include activities like campfires, s’mores, stargazing, swimming (can you conquer Beaverhead Rock?), theme days, sports & games, tournaments, arts & crafts, nature exploration, hiking, and out-of-camp excursions into Yosemite National Park. Our friendly camp staff will greet you when you arrive, help you get settled into your tent-cabin, and introduce you and your group to all of the fun activities at Camp.
Tuolumne Grand Reopening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Save the Date to come celebrate the reopening to Tuolumne Camp! The Berkeley Tuolumne Camp Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, June 4, 2022. Additional information about this event is coming soon, including the registration dates and schedule of events. This free event will include small group tours of the new Camp facility and a ribbon cutting ceremony. More information will be available soon.
Tuolumne all-inclusive adult camp session | Ages 21+
This program lets adults age 21 and up to treat themselves to Berkeley Camps as a kid-at-heart grownup: to reminisce, renew and reinvigorate with new and old friends while enjoying a getaway with hiking, campfires, and incredible outdoor experiences.
50 & Better Camp | Age 50+ recommended
Just think of it – no cooking, cleaning or shopping - just time to enjoy the peaceful, beautiful mountains, Tuolumne River, waterfalls, and pine scented air. We are looking forward to the return of 50 & better camp to Tuolumne! This year, we are offering two consecutive sessions of 50 & Better Camp. These sessions take place at the tail end of our summer program season, and are focused on programming to many of our staff will have departed back to their academic studies. For that reason, most of the activities during 50 & Better Camp are camper led and based on the interests of campers. Lead a hike, host a book discussion, or kick back with a cup of coffee and enjoy the Tahoe sunsets.
Tuolumne Nightly Tent Rentals
Can't get a Hotel room in Yosemite National Park? Are you looking for a quick getaway to the mountains, and you don’t want to worry about packing for a full camping trip? Want to get to the Great Outdoors without having to go indoors? Try our nightly tent rental options at Tuolumne Camp! Choose to stay at Camp either with meals, or without. This option is a great way to explore Camp during a quieter time of the season, and to enjoy self-guided exploration of the surrounding environment. When: Aug 15-26
Artist-In-Residence Program (AIR)
Are you an artist that wants to share your unique skill with others? Come volunteer at camp as an Artist-In-Residence! Artists get to stay at camp free of charge in exchange for teaching arts like ceramics, macrame, drawing in nature, tie-dye, yoga, and more.

Echo Lake Camp Programs
Echo Lake Camp sits near Echo Summit, just minutes from Echo Lake and Desolation Wilderness, providing spectacular views and plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventure. Echo Lake Camp programs include Youth Camp, Family Camp, Counselor-In-Training, 50 & Better Camp, and a new Fresh Adventure Weekend program (designed to introduce new campers to Echo Lake Camp).
Echo Lake Family Camp offers two weeks from June 10-26 and Labor Day weekend, September 2-6. Campers can choose between week-long, midweek, and weekend session lengths. This all-inclusive experience offers traditional Family Camp activities like campfires, s’mores, stargazing, swimming, lake walks, theme days, sports & games, arts & crafts, nature exploration, and hiking.
The Echo Lake Youth Camp program offers round-trip charter bus transportation to and from Berkeley, and an action-packed week of supervised activities for youth ages 7-14. In response to popular demand, we just added a new youth camp session June 27th – July 1st.

Counselor-In-Training (C.I.T.) | Entering Grades 9-12
Berkeley Sleepaway Camps CIT session are designed for teens entering grades 9-12 to take part in fun, engaging activities designed specifically to introduce them to the concept of Camping and outdoor recreation. The goal of this program is to teach participants about the benefits of going outdoors, to educate them about how to enjoy being outdoors safely, and to encourage participants to go camping either on their own, with their families, or through our programs. This program provides fun, engaging opportunities for diverse group of Teen Campers to develop their leadership skills through mentorship, gain hands-on work experience in Food Service, Recreation, and Maintenance/Administration, to build confidence and knowledge about camp’s natural environment, and to learn more about what it’s like to work with children in an out-door residential recreation setting. CIT’s will live and work at Camp for a week. Choose Family Camp or Youth Camp sessions
Note: Round-trip bus transportation is provided for Youth Camp sessions only.

Fee: $194(res)/$233(non)-$415(res)/$498(non) per session, depending on facility and session length.
Echo Lake Camp Work Weekend | AGES 13+ (W/ADULT SUPERVISION)
This FREE program is a volunteer opportunity to help setup Camp before our season begins!

Scholarships We are taking intentional steps to ensure that our programs are accessible and inclusive for all Berkeley residents, regardless of financial means. We offer camp scholarships to Berkeley residents based on financial need. This year, scholarships are available for even more programs, and the Parks, Recreation and Waterfront Department expanded scholarship eligibility.
