Diversity in Tech Symposium Virtual Career Fair

The Expanding Diversity and Gender Equity in Tech (EDGE in Tech) initiative at the University of California is hosting a Virtual Career Fair at their Diversity in Tech Symposium on Advancing Climate Resilience on March 10 from 1-4pm that will allow startups supporting climate resilience to recruit top talent from UC Berkeley, Davis, Merced, Santa Cruz.

For Berkeley-based climate or cleantech startups, EDGE in Tech will waive the $1000 participation fee. Relevant areas of focus include alt meat, clean energy, energy storage, sustainable packaging, pollution reduction, or anything else in the green tech / clean tech space.

The Berkeley Startup Cluster has updated its website map of startups and innovation companies with the latest data (from Q4 2021).  Companies are color coded by industry and shown by address (and City Council district).

Bay Area NSF-I Corps

For early-stage Berkeley startups, the Bay Area NSF-I Corps will offer a course on February 28 & March 26 & 31 from 6-9pm to help you identify and refine your value proposition and target customers. There will also be a second training available to food-related teams which includes resources such as one-on one advising and a 10-week food business startup accelerator.

BERKELEY INNOVATORS MAKING NEWS

Bakar Labs is ready to welcome BioTech Located in the renovated building that formerly hosted the BAMPFA, the Bakar BioEnginuity Hub (BBH) is Berkeley’s new home for innovation and entrepreneurship. Acrigen Raises New Round of Seed Financing

Based out of West Berkeley's Bonneville Labs, Acrigen Biosciences has raised seed financing to advance its clinical pipeline of therapies to treat genetic disorders using their proprietary gene editing technology.

Upside Foods, a Berkeley-based company making cell-cultivated meat has acquired Cultured Decadence, a cultivated seafood company. WIth this acquisition, Upside is expanding their efforts to produce clean meat and create a new, more sustainable way to eat.
