Centennial Historical Model
Stop by Belmont City Hall lobby, located at 1 Twin Pines Lane, to see the historical model of the Belmont School for Boys from 1957, made by long-term resident Ed Schoenstein! This detailed model highlights Sierra Hall and Hopkins Hall, two of the last remaining buildings from the Belmont School for Boys, founded in 1885. The campus later became St. Joseph's Military Academy in 1932 and, in 1952, became the parish school for Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, as well as the site of today's Carlmont Shopping Center. Today, the site is home to an assisted living community.
Join us throughout the year as we honor our history, highlight our community, and celebrate our centennial milestone. Visit www.belmont.gov/100years to learn how you can get involved, from community activity proposals and art projects to volunteering and sponsorship opportunities!
