Earthquake Warning California Resources
California experiences frequent seismic activity, with roughly 10,000 earthquakes felt across the state annually. While most are minor, some moderate earthquakes can result in damage, injuries, and even fatalities. This National Earthquake Preparedness Month, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) continues to urge businesses, residents, and visitors to create a preparedness plan before the next earthquake strikes. Find free resources from Cal OES here, including the MyShake app, which issues alerts before shaking occurs on earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 or greater.
