SMCMVCD Offers Assistance to Prevent Mosquitoes During Rainy Weather
With the recent heavy rain, it's essential to check for standing water around your home, including under your house and in rain barrels. Standing water can create a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
If water remains under your house for more than seven days, contact the San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District (SMCMVCD) for assistance. They can help prevent mosquito growth while you work on draining the water.
To keep mosquitoes from breeding in rainwater collection containers, ensure each container is tightly covered with window screening. If you're unsure whether you have mosquito larvae or need assistance, SMCMVCD can inspect and provide guidance. Submit a service request or call (650) 344-8592 for help.
Help Shape the Future of Walking, Biking, and Rolling in San Mateo County
The San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) is working to make it safer and easier for people to walk, bike, and roll near and across US 101 through the US 101 San Mateo County Crossing Improvement Plan (Active 101). Participate in a survey until March 7 to help shape a proposed countywide mobility corridor and identify key crossings. Those who take the survey will be entered for a chance to win a $250 gift card!
