Public Works Highlights
This week, Public Works Operations made significant progress in maintaining Belmont’s roadways, filling over 140 potholes with more than 4 tons of cold-mix asphalt throughout the city. Crews also repaired or replaced numerous vandalized and damaged traffic signs and refreshed red curb markings to improve visibility and safety. In a collaborative effort, Public Works and Parks Operations staff trimmed overgrown trees along Ralston Avenue at Christian Drive, ensuring clear sightlines for traffic signals.
After an extended period of traffic delays at Ralston Avenue and Tahoe Drive, staff and vendors successfully resolved a traffic signal system issue that disrupted vehicle detection and caused inefficient red and green light cycles. The signals are now operating normally and responding in real time to traffic flow.
Finally, with rain expected in the coming days, staff are keeping the sandbag stations at Barrett Community Center, City Hall, and the Corporation Yard fully stocked for community use. Thank you to our dedicated crews for keeping Belmont safe and moving!
