City of Belmont Emergency Preparedness Resources
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jan. 14, 2025
The devastating fires in Southern California serve as a stark reminder of the importance of staying prepared for emergencies. To help our community stay informed and ready, the City of Belmont has launched two new webpages dedicated to emergency preparedness and updates.
-
Emergency Updates: This webpage will provide critical updates and announcements during emergencies. In addition to updating this page, we’ll share information on our social media channels and through press releases. To stay informed, sign up to receive City News directly in your inbox.
-
Emergency Resources: This webpage offers essential resources, including links to alerts like SMC Alert and Know Your Zone, as well as guidance for all-hazard preparedness.
The City of Belmont, in partnership with the San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department and the Mid-Peninsula Water District, is committed to emergency preparedness. The San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department offers updated information on wildfire preparedness, and the Mid-Peninsula Water District's statement on Fire Preparedness and Planning provides insight into our water supplies. From updated wildfire safety information to water supply planning, we are working together to protect our community.
We also encourage residents to take proactive steps to prepare their homes and families. Explore our Emergency Resources page for tools and tips to help you get started.
For those looking to support wildfire recovery efforts, we’ve compiled a list of trusted organizations providing aid to victims and first responders. You can find this information on our Emergency Updates webpage.
Finally, we extend our deepest gratitude to first responders for their tireless efforts in aiding our Southern California neighbors, and we thank our Belmont community for prioritizing preparedness. Together, we can build a safer and more resilient future.
