Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Poetry & Essay Contest 2025 |

We’re excited to announce the third annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Poetry & Essay Contest for Belmont youth. The contest aims to both honor and celebrate the inspiring legacy of Dr. King, while giving students a platform to tell their story and share their thoughts on today’s ever-changing world. All Belmont students in grades 3 -12 can submit a poem or essay reflecting on this year’s theme “Life's most persistent and urgent question is 'what are you doing for others?'" 1963 collection “Strength to Love” - Dr. King. Submissions will be accepted January 6th - February 3rd.
Student finalists will be selected by February 14th and invited to recite their piece at the Awards Ceremony in the Twin Pines Lodge scheduled for Thursday, February 27th, 6:00 - 7:30pm. Finalists and winners will receive monetary gift cards by our generous event sponsors.
