 Attend Community Events in Belmont This Weekend
Looking for a fun weekend in Belmont? We’ve got you covered with three exciting events!
Start your weekend off with Movies in the Parks tonight, Friday, Sept. 20, at Alexander Park with a showing of Matilda! Get there early to enter our raffle, takes some photos, and enjoy our mobile recreation games. Bring your own blankets or chairs. Snacks will be available for purchase. Free for all ages!
Then, lend a hand on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Belmont’s Coastal Cleanup Day from 9 a.m. to noon. Meet at Belmont City Hall and help us clean our creeks as part of California Coastal Cleanup Day. Don’t forget to register in advance!
Wrap up the weekend with the Belmont Caltrain Electric Service Launch Party on Sunday, Sept. 22, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Belmont Train Station. Enjoy free ice cream, Row House pop-up classes, games, community booths, and explore local fire and public works equipment.

New Community Piano in Twin Pines Park
We have a new community piano in Twin Pines Park located across from the Buckeye Picnic area! Whether you're an experienced musician or just starting out, take a moment to share your talent with those around you. Music brings us together, and this piano is here to foster that connection. Please play during daylight hours only and do not damage the piano. Please limit playing time if others are waiting. If you have any questions, call our office at (650) 595-7441.

Pet Vaccination Clinic
Partners in Animal Welfare will be hosting a pet vaccination clinic on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon in front of Belmont City Hall (1 Twin Pines Lane, Belmont). This clinic is open to dogs and cats. Services include flea and tick prevention, deworming, and vaccinations for rabies, Bordetella, DA2PP, and FVRCP. $25 per vaccine or treatment. High School Fair
Our annual High School Fair presented by YAC returns on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. This event gives local middle schoolers and their families the opportunity to learn about what local public and private high schools have to offer. Fourteen local public and private high schools will be attending. A full list of high schools attending will be shared closer to the event. This event is free (no registration required) and open to all Belmont and non-Belmont residents.

Diwali Celebration
Join us for a Festival of Lights celebration. The Belmont Library and the City of Belmont are curating a colorful event, filled with music, dance, poetry, crafts, and refreshments. Enjoy performances from Egemen Sanli, Monica Korde, and Purvi Jejurkar. Event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 2-5 p.m. in the Twin Pines Senior and Community Center. Free and open to all ages. Public Works Highlights
Public Works Operations replaced over 3 tons of asphalt around the city and responded to service requests from our newly launched My Belmont 311 app. Requests included clearing dumped debris, filling potholes, and trimming vegetation that blocked street sign visibility throughout Belmont.

RethinkWaste Poster Contest Now Accepting Submissions
RethinkWaste is accepting submissions for the annual fall Poster Contest until Friday, Oct. 11. Students in third to eight grade from all schools within the RethinkWaste service area are welcome to enter. Contest winners can choose from a new selection of prizes, will be recognized at a special event this fall, and first place winners get their art on a Recology truck in their neighborhood!
Hands-On Workshop for Sustainable Landscaping
The Mid-Pen Water District is hosting a free Hands-On Workshop for Sustainable Landscaping on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 6-8 p.m. at 3 Dairy Lane, Belmont. This course will teach you the fundamentals of water-efficient landscape practices in a hands-on classroom environment. Learn about sustainable landscaping and gardening while reducing water usage, including native, water-efficient plant selection, rainwater detection harvesting, landscape maintenance, leak, plus other helpful tips.
Register for the Annual NAMIWalks
The National Alliance on Mental Illness, San Mateo County (NAMI SMC) is hosting NAMIWalks on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Seal Point Park in San Mateo. Registration is required. Everyone is invited to participate in this free inspiring event to raise awareness and funds to support NAMI SMC's free local education and support programs.
