Public Works Highlights
In recent weeks, our Public Works Operations team has been hard at work enhancing the safety and appearance of our city. The team has successfully cleaned graffiti, repaired a damaged wood barrier, replaced numerous signs, filled potholes, and addressed street light outages and traffic signal issues. Additionally, over 40 tons of asphalt have been replaced across Belmont.
Our staff also responded promptly to several vehicle accidents that required immediate street cleaning and repairs to city assets, such as signs and street lights. In one notable instance, a damaged and leaning street light pole was removed for public safety, and we are currently coordinating with our lighting vendor to reinstall it.
In a collaborative effort between Public Works and Parks staff, the two benches at Vista Point have been replaced, along with the concrete pads they rest on. To protect this newly enhanced seating area, we are also installing wheel stops in the adjacent parking spaces.
