It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Brian Weddell, a beloved and dedicated Community Service Officer who served our community for 28 years. Weddell started his career with the Belmont Police Department as a Reserve Police Officer in 1996. Weddell passed away on July 1, 2024.
Weddell was known for his unwavering commitment to the department, his kindness, and his dedication to public service. Throughout his 28 years of service, Weddell touched countless lives, providing support, safety, and a friendly presence to all. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Weddell enjoyed working on motorcycles, watching NASCAR and being with his friends and family.
"No words can explain what Brian meant to this department and the community he served for almost three decades,” said Chief Ken Stenquist. “Brian was a loyal friend to everyone he worked with, and his unexpected loss leaves a void that will be deeply felt; we will miss him greatly.”
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested any condolences or remembrances be sent in written form to the Belmont Police Department at 1 Twin Pines Lane, Suite 160, Belmont, CA 94002. The Police Department will forward anything received to the family.
