On Saturday, May 11th, 2024, at approximately 1:30pm, Belmont Police Officers were called to an apartment complex in the 700 block of Old County Road on a report of a robbery that just occurred. The victim, a United States Postal Service Carrier, reported two suspects threw her to the ground and forcefully took her set of Postal Service keys.

At approximately 2:15pm, Palo Alto PD were looking for the suspect vehicle when they received an emergency call of a robbery of a Postal Service Carrier in their jurisdiction. They quickly realized it was the same suspects and located the vehicle shortly thereafter, which led them on a brief pursuit. Palo Alto PD Officers were able to apprehend both suspects who were later booked on multiple felony charges.
Belmont Detectives are working closely with Palo Alto PD and US Postal Service Investigators to determine if these suspects are responsible for any other similar crimes. Although this investigation is ongoing, the collaboration between police agencies, along with advances in investigative technology, were essential in apprehending these criminals and making our communities safer.
