 Sweetheart and Superstar Dance
It's your last chance to sign up for our annual Sweetheart Dance and brand-new Superstar Dance! Join us on Friday, February 9th at the Twin Pines Senior and Community Center for an evening of dancing, treats, craft making, and memories that will last a lifetime.
We are excited to offer the Superstar Dance for youth with disabilities and their guardians to attend from 6:30pm - 7:30pm, before our traditional Sweetheart Dance from 7:30pm - 9:30pm. Accommodations include eliminating strobe lights, loud music, and reducing capacity. Superstar Dance guests are welcome to stay for the entire evening.
Both Superstar and Sweetheart Dance include a live DJ, dancing, photobooth, crafts, refreshments, and a visit from a Disney princess.
PROS Plan
The final draft of the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Master Plan, including the Open Space Management Plan, is now available for review.
On February 7th, the Parks and Recreation Commission will consider recommending the Plan for City Council adoption. See the final draft here.

Senior Valentines Day Social
Something sweet is coming to the Twin Pines Senior and Community Center on Wednesday, February 14th! At 10:15 am we will get creative crafting (RSVP requested), country fried chicken will be served for lunch at 11:30am - $6 suggested contribution; reservation required by 2/8, then dessert and trivia before showing “Maybe I Do” on the big screen at 12:30pm. "Ask a Lawyer" Clinics
Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County’s Elder Rights staff attorney Mark Cotter will be present monthly for an “Ask a Lawyer” Clinic where he will answer seniors’ legal questions regarding elder rights issues. Mark will also provide legal consultations, direct services, and referrals to outside pro bono attorneys. Clinics will take place the second Friday of each month. The next one will be Friday, February 9th from 1:30pm - 4:00pm in the Twin Pines Senior and Community Center.
Summer Hiring
Join the Belmont team this summer! We are hiring Recreation Leaders and Counselors in Training for Camp SOAR, as well as lifeguards, swim instructors, and a pool manager for our summer aquatics programs. Belmont History Room
The Belmont History Room will be open on Sunday, February 11th and Sunday, February 18th from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. Take a walk around Twin Pines Park and drop-in to learn more about the rich history of Belmont. The History Room is located in the back of the Manor House, closest to the Twin Pines Meadow. MLK Poetry and Essay Contest
Belmont youth responded to this year’s theme of Dr. King’s quote “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter", with over 100 submissions which is a huge jump from this last year! Judging is underway and finalists will be contacted by Friday, February 9th and invited to recite their piece at the awards ceremony scheduled Thursday, February 15th. Each winner will receive $125 thanks to our sponsors of the event. Winners will also be invited to the February 27th City Council meeting to recite their winning poem or essay. Egg Adventure Hunt Coming Soon
Our annual Egg Adventure Hunt returns on Saturday, March 30th in Twin Pines Park. The Hunt starts at 10:00am sharp! Open to youth ages 3 - 10.
NEW THIS YEAR: Adaptive EGGventure Hunt. Join us as we host our first ever Adaptive Egg Hunt in the Twin Pines Park Meadow on Friday, March 29th! Hunt is open to individuals with disabilities of all ages. 2,000 eggs and 4 golden eggs will be hidden throughout the Meadow grass. Don't forget to bring your own basket and stick around after to snap some photos with our bunny. Hunt will begin at 4:30pm sharp! Registration required.
