FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Sept. 21, 2023
Belmont Police Department is joining forces with Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care for this year's Mental Health Symposium.
For its third annual community support event, the focus of the evening will be on mental health, suicide prevention, and military/veteran culture.
Keynote speaker, Karin Fowler, PsyD-Suicide Prevention Coordinator from VA Palo Alto, will help us understand the training, experiences, and mindset brought on by being in the military. This information is designed to help family and community members understand veteran behavior and experiences that may affect their mental health.
Additional speakers will include individuals with military experience who are currently on their journeys to mental health wellness. These brave veterans will share experiences during their time in the military and their transitions back to civilian life.
