Last weekend, The VOICES team had a blast participating in Belmont’s Annual Coastal Cleanup Day for their first service project of the year. The team worked diligently to collect trash and recyclable materials throughout Twin Pines Park, which in turn will help lessen the amount of debris that flows to the coast.

UPDATE: Ralston Ave Adaptive Traffic Signal Control System (ASCT)
ICYMI last week, the adaptive signal system fine tuning is underway on Ralston Avenue between Hiller Street on the east end of town all the way to Christian Drive. Work will be complete and the adaptive system will go live in early October. We're planning a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate, so stay tuned for more information.
If you hadn’t already heard, our Public Works Department is upgrading Ralston Avenue with an “Adaptive Traffic Signal Control System,” allowing the our existing signals to adjust based on real time traffic conditions by modernizing the software in the signal cabinets. Think of it like A.I. for traffic signals ... depending on which direction has the most traffic flow, signal timing is adjusted in real time to allow more green time for the heaviest volumes. This means less delay, and some faster travel times up and down the length of Ralston Avenue.
Curious about the project and its history? Visit the project page to learn more.
