Assemblymember Mullin is a great advocate for our communities and we thank him for securing $3.5 million from the State toward our Belmont and San Carlos Alameda de las Pulgas Corridor Project, a significant step to gathering the rest of the funding needed to complete our safety project.
While at the meeting, Mr. Mullin congratulated the project team including our partners in San Carlos, Sequoia Union High School District, San Carlos School District, our consultants, staff and our Four Corners working group. He recognized the team for continuing to work and advocating for this years long interagency project aimed at creating a safer experience for all users of the corridor.

UPDATE: Ralston Ave Adaptive Traffic Signal Control System (ASCT)
The adaptive signal system fine tuning is underway on Ralston Avenue between Hiller Street on the east end of town all the way to Christian Drive. Work will be complete and the adaptive system will go live in early October. We're planning a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate, so stay tuned for more information.
If you hadn’t already heard, our Public Works Department is upgrading Ralston Avenue with an “Adaptive Traffic Signal Control System,” allowing the our existing signals to adjust based on real time traffic conditions by modernizing the software in the signal cabinets. Think of it like A.I. for traffic signals ... depending on which direction has the most traffic flow, signal timing is adjusted in real time to allow more green time for the heaviest volumes. This means less delay, and some faster travel times up and down the length of Ralston Avenue.
Curious about the project and its history? Visit the project page to learn more.

Maintenance and Improvement Work this Week
Laurel Avenue Asphalt Repaired
Our Public Works Street and Traffic Division removed and replaced another 9.5 tons of failed asphalt on Laurel Avenue this past week which is expected to resolve the pothole issues on that street.
The division also updated the stop legend and bar on Laurel Avenue at Hill Street as it was becoming difficult for traffic to see.

Thank you residents for your patience and cooperation.
Speaking of residents, thank you to our wonderful residents who notice the work we're doing to improve your streets.
Taking the time to tag us in a Tweet makes us smile.
Thanks Hanna Muegge!

Hallmark Park Play Area Improvements
Exciting improvements were made at the Hallmark Park play area this week. Our Parks staff removed an old swing set with loose footing so that it could be reset in new concrete footing.
This new concrete will take a few weeks to cure properly, at which time the play area will re-open!
|
The Parks team also removed tree roots that were growing throughout the play area and installed fresh wood borders around the entire area.
The whole playground will soon receive a fresh layer of wood fiber chips as well.
Thank you for keeping our parks beautiful and fun!
