Parks Make Life Better
National Park & Recreation Month is a time to celebrate the importance of parks and recreation in establishing and maintaining quality of life for all ages, while contributing to the physical, economic, and environmental well-being of our community. This July, we invite you to celebrate with a live outdoor concert, a trot on our open space trails, or recreation or lap swim. Also, scroll to the bottom for an exciting update on our Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan, setting the course for improvements to Belmont's outdoor recreational spaces for the next 15 years!

Belmont Talks: Emergency Preparation
Learn simple steps to reduce stress for you and your family in the event of an emergency with Emergency Services Specialist and CERT Program Manager Sandra Firpo on Thursday, July 14th at 7 pm. Open to all ages on Zoom or at the Belmont Library.

Summer Concert Series
Live concerts are in full swing in Twin Pines Park every Sunday, now through July 31st. The Belmont Park Boosters run this seasonal favorite for all ages, with (cash only) food and beverage sales supporting Parks & Recreation improvements since 1973. Learn more.

Recreation/Lap Swim & Lessons
Learn to swim or come exercise or play at Carlmont Pool this summer! Swim classes (ages 3-16) and recreation or lap swim (all ages) run Monday-Friday now through August 5th. Learn more.

Parks, Recreation, & Open Space Master Plan News
The Parks, Recreation, & Open Space (PROS) Master Plan final draft plan is now available! This Plan represents 18 months of work with consultants Gates + Associates and WRA, Inc. to assess, engage with the community, and provide recommendations for improvements to Belmont’s recreational spaces over the next 15 years. The Plan will be presented to the Parks & Recreation Commission on Wednesday, July 6th and City Council on Tuesday, July 12th.
The PROS Master Plan includes the visioning, benchmarking and assessment, analysis, and summary of community outreach and engagement completed throughout this process, along with recommendations and implementation guidance. The Appendices include all email communications, the full Open Space Management Plan text, additional supporting analysis, etc.
